George Erdosh's latest book, "What Recipes Don't Tell You (from Appetizers to Zucchini)" is a well organzied reference book for anyone who likes to cook, or has any questions about food preparation. It is organzied alphabetically, so that if you have a question about anything, from cooking utensils to differences between different varieties of a food ("What is the difference between Gala and Cameo apples?", or "How do I go about helping children to be active participants in food preparation?"), this book is wonderful. It is reasonably priced, and written in a way to be useful to novice cooks, or seasoned professionals alike. It is a great quick-reference. I would recommend it highly. Be aware that it is not a recipe book, but a great guide for questions that come up when you are cooking, or planning a meal. If you are looking for a cookbook, look up one of George's other 8 books. If you live in the Sierra Foothills of California, you might even get a chance to cook with George in one of his cooking classes!Product details

This is a truly helpful book. The topics are arranged alphabetically, making it easy to find your needed information. This would make a great gift for a novice cook, or for one who has not had the courage to try something unfamiliar. As a very experienced and adventuresome cook I have learned a lot.
